This is the slow day. You are collected from your hotel, taken to Sanctoo near Bali Zoo, and treated in a private room: the listing offers single, couple and triple rooms. The massages happen beside the river, and you hear the waterfall the whole time.

There are three options, and the difference matters. The 2-hour River Side has a foot bath, a 60-minute frangipani-oil massage, a 30-minute scrub, a milk bath, a sauna and ginger tea. If the flower bath is the reason you are booking, choose the three hours.

• Book the day after Batur or Nusa Penida. Your legs will thank you.
• Ask for a late-afternoon slot and plan dinner after. The last slot is at 19:00.
